DIGG, Del.icio.us, Reddit, Newsvine. What do they have in common? They’re all community sites. And they’re all bookmarking sites. What do you get when you combine “social” and “bookmarking?”
In a social bookmarking system, users store lists of Internet resources, which they find useful. These lists are either accessible to the public or a specific network, and other people with similar interests can view the links by category, tags, or even randomly. Some allow for privacy on a per-bookmark basis.
IMHO, there are too many social bookmarking sites out there! I’d rather stick with DIGG and del.icio.us. That’s where my friends are, anyway.
Burn it! All these clever dicks are manipulating the system by bookmarking their own crap!
Agreed. Defined and destroyed.
If you take it out of computer context, it makes absolutely no sense. HEY GUYS, I USED THIS BOOKMARK TO MARK MY PAGE, NOW I WILL SHARE IT WITH YOU.
No, just, no.
I freekin touch my crotch and wipe my ass with social bookmarks.
